Dear National Park Advocate,

Parks are where we go to understand our world. Ideally, they are where we can heal, celebrate, and gain strength.

Very soon, the Senate will have a chance to vote on establishing a new park site in Colorado -- Amache.

During World War II innocent Japanese-Americans were forced to relocate to 10 remote, military-style prisons. The Granada Relocation Center in southeast Colorado, known as Amache, was one of them.

Take action now! Urge your senator to vote to make Amache a new national park site. It would be the most powerful way to preserve and protect the stories of Amache for future generations.

We stand with our partners in advocating for the former incarceration site to become a future park. The longstanding and heroic efforts of Amache survivors, descendants, and other community leaders to share this story are the reason why it remains alive today.

Survivors of Amache have been waiting for most of their lives for their stories to be told and acknowledged.

While the story of Amache is first and foremost a story for its survivors and descendants to tell, many other incredible partners are advocating for this bill to pass. They are also part of this Amache Movement: including civil rights organizations, regional partners, veterans groups, county commissioners, organizations invested in community economic development, and beyond.

The creation of a national park is an expression of faith in the future. It is a pact between generations, a promise from the past to the future.

We must honor the heroic survivors and descendants of Amache, the legacy of those who are no longer with us, and future generations. Join the Amache Movement and urge your senators to vote to pass the Amache National Historic Site Act today.

Thank you for your allyship,

Tracy Coppola
