“Having my 9 month old baby test positive for COVID was one of the worst days of my life”

Good evening,

Kerri and her husband have had a terrifying couple of weeks after their 3 year old caught COVID at daycare, sending each of them into isolation as the whole family gradually tested positive.

Their youngest child, only 9 months old, spent a frightening 3 days in hospital struggling to breathe, but is on the mend now thankfully.

Kerri has turned to us for help. She’s not asking for much, just the simple things that her family can’t afford or access right now - bibs, bottles, toiletries and nappies. She’s also asked for some books and toys to keep the children occupied while the whole family is shut off from the community in COVID isolation.

Please donate today [[link removed]] so we can help Kerri and many other families like hers leading up to Christmas and the holiday season.

Their community has also stepped in to help and the local council is assisting with food. You can be part of their support crew too. Your generosity today can provide Kerri and other families in crisis with all the essential nursery items they need right now.

The day her 3 year old came back with a positive COVID result (the first diagnosis in the family) was very emotional for Kerri. “I was devastated” were the only words she could find to describe the pain she felt when her other children then started getting sick.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we know that at least 56% of families supported by Geelong Mums have been negatively affected by COVID-19. Job loss, homelessness and domestic abuse are just a few of the causes of disadvantage these families are dealing with right now. Testing positive to COVID brings a whole set of additional challenges.

Please donate what you can today [[link removed]] so we can continue supporting this family and all the others on our waiting list right now.

Your donation will help to relieve some of the stress of having to find money to purchase essential items. It will provide much needed comfort to those being forced to decide whether to put food on the table or provide a safe place for their baby to sleep.

Please show Kerri and her family how much you care by donating to our Christmas Appeal today. [[link removed]]

Thank you in advance for your incredible support.

With love and thanks,
