Democrats were elected to majorities in the House and Senate to make real change to benefit the lives of everyday Americans – and that's exactly what Cori and her progressive colleagues in Congress have been organizing for.
Congress is close to finalizing what provisions will be included in the Build Back Better Act, so we need to step up now and show our support for Cori as she works to pass President Biden's full agenda.
Cori knows that we cannot settle for anything less than policies that directly benefit everyday Americans and save Black lives. But conservative Democrats like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema seem to have forgotten who they work for.
Take Joe Manchin, for example. He's vowed he would vote against the Clean Energy Performance Plan in order to protect his own financial interests even though his constituents are more exposed to flood damage from the climate crisis than residents of any other state.
John, this is why it's so important Cori is in Congress. Cori didn't come to Congress to sit back and accept whatever was agreeable to Manchin and Sinema. She came to pass solutions to the historic and urgent crises people are currently facing.
