John, I've run for president and chaired the Democratic National Committee during times of uncertainty for our country. I understand what's needed in this moment, and I hope you'll let me explain:

The threat that Trump poses to our democracy is unprecedented -- but the challenge of winning the White House is not. The stakes are high, but if we nail the fundamentals leading up to this election, we'll have a fighting chance at taking back the White House in 2020 and electing Democrats down the ballot.
