In Orange County and around the country we are still experiencing the insurmountable impacts of the pandemic, but the potential for us to overcome these challenges is here. Congress is grappling with the reconciliation package and now is the time for change. Now is the time that we recognize those who've supported our economy, kept our families fed and have kept us alive- the undocumented essential workers. They grow our food, take care of our elderly and our children. They are nurses, police officers, caregivers and farm workers. They seek the opportunity to be Americans.
For 35 years we've debated immigration reform. Now is the time for a modernized plan that provides a pathway to citizenship for all who've earned that opportunity. I will continue this fight because immigration is an American issue that affects our economy’s well-being.
