Team — I know you receive these emails from me and what seems like nearly every other elected Democrat quite often.
I wish more than anything that politics and campaigning didn’t revolve so heavily around fundraising. I ran for Congress to protect and expand access to health care, deliver justice for immigrants, and protect our communities from gun violence.
But if I want to remain in office and fight for those priorities, I have to fundraise.
Our October fundraising deadline is a few days away so I’ll be direct with you today: Will you help us reach our goal with a donation today?
In a post-Citizens United world, any billionaire with an ax to grind can write a check and swing a campaign in their favor. In order to fortify our campaign and our movement, we need to ensure we can keep pace.
I don’t need supporters like those when I have supporters like you. I refuse to be beholden to a small group of special interests instead of the district I was elected to represent — that’s an insult to democracy.
I want you to know how much I and everyone here at Team Pramila appreciates your consistent support. We wouldn’t be asking for help so frequently if it wasn’t genuinely necessary — and it is truly heart-warming how this team comes through every time.
Our October deadline is in just four days, and we’re still about $7,000 short of our goal. Will you help us close the gap with a contribution?
Thank you for being in this fight with me. It means more than you know.
In solidarity,
Pramila
