Friend -- this is only possible because of you.

Over the past 11 months, we've made great progress in our mission to reduce the stranglehold dark money has on our democracy.

But special interests see that their influence is at risk, and they're fighting back with a vengeance. They're launching their biggest attacks against me yet in an effort to flip this seat in 2020.

I've never taken a dime from special interests, PACs, or lobbyists. If I did, I could raise the $12,000 that our campaign needs before our October 31 deadline in minutes -- but that's not the way politics should work.

We need to raise $12,000 from grassroots contributors by the end of the month to fend off the attacks already coming from special interests. Can you chip now to help defend my seat?

We only flipped this seat in 2018 -- a seat that had been Republican for decades -- because of the passion, time, and contributions of grassroots supporters like you. Now, the only people I'm accountable to are those who I represent.

Turns out, special interests really don't like that. They're spending dark money right now to flip my seat so they can hand it to someone who will work for them.

I refuse to play their game. I'm counting on you: Will you chip in to my re-election campaign so that I can continue to work on fixing our government?
