John,
Senator Joe Manchin represents West Virginia, and a lot of people explain away his opposition to aspects of President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda by citing Trump’s margin of victory in WV. The thing is, that’s just one data point… and it may not be the most significant one.
According to research outlet KFF, in West Virginia more than 1 in 4 seniors have lost ALL of their teeth.1 It’s the highest rate in the nation―which means West Virginia would really benefit from expanding Medicare to cover dental care!

Some Democrats have been reported to oppose Democratic priorities like expanding Medicare to cover dental, hearing and vision care, lowering prescription drug prices, and investing in Home and Community-Based Services. These priorities would undoubtedly benefit Americans in every state, yet these members are choosing to put the needs of their insurance company and Big Pharma donors ahead of the needs of their constituents.
This isn’t over. Keep the pressure on corporate Democrats to put their constituents’ needs first.
Seniors have teeth. Seniors have eyes. Seniors have ears. It makes zero sense for Medicare not to cover them already, and Democrats have a chance to fix that with this package.
We’re not giving up! Donate $7 to EXPAND Medicare!
Thank you,
Alex Lawson
