A shocking report from Rolling Stone this week further confirmed that the fight to hold the insurrectionists accountable must extend to Donald Trump and to his co-conspirators in the United States Congress. According to sources, multiple Members of Congress were involved in planning meetings for overturning the election results, “Stop the Steal" rallies, and the violent assault on the US Capitol.

Anonymous witnesses have detailed support from Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs of Arizona, Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, and Louie Gohmert of Texas. Gosar even suggested a possible “blanket pardon” from Trump of the insurrectionists.

With witnesses willing to testify regarding aid from federal lawmakers in planning the insurrection, Congress must take action to hold these representatives accountable for their treasonous actions. We are joining the call to expel any Member of Congress who helped to coordinate these assaults on our democracy.

As we’ve stated previously, any elected official who engaged in a rebellion or insurrection against the United States, or provides support for one, has violated their oath of office. We cannot allow these Members of Congress to continue representing the American people through the very democratic processes they sought to overturn.

As Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said, “Those responsible [for the January 6 insurrection] remain a danger to our democracy, our country, and human life in the vicinity of our Capitol and beyond.”
