Dear John,
Yesterday, I had the great honor of joining President Trump in the Diplomatic Room of the White House as he informed America of the successful raid
that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
ISIS is one of the most depraved organizations that has ever existed in the history of the world. They are religious Nazis. Their leader is now
dead, and he died a coward's death.
Thanks to amazing, elite U.S. forces and brave canines, the best of America confronted the worst of humankind... and the good guys won.
I was honored to be asked by President Trump to address the media following his announcement in the White House Press Briefing Room. You can watch my
full remarks here:
President Trump deserves great credit for authorizing this risky operation and for his steely resolve in crushing ISIS' so-called "caliphate."
Historic moments like this announcement are special, and I consider myself blessed for having been able to witness it up close. South Carolinians
– and all Americans – are safer today because al-Baghdadi has been brought to justice.
Please join me today in praying for those brave men and women in uniform who brought this murderous thug to justice and for the families of his many
victims such as James Foley and Kayla Mueller.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Graham
United States Senator
