We must step up our campaign, but resources are tight? ? ? ? ? Friend ? Congressional dealmakers and the White House are reporting that a compromise has been struck over the Build Back Better Act as lawmakers hurry to craft the exact language of the bill.

Over the past week and a half, a major climate provision was struck from the package, and in response environmental allies moved to shield other climate and environmental justice programs from being cut. And now we're on the verge of winning the historic package.

How this shakes out from here will come down to grassroots pressure. We must step up our campaign to pass this bill with environmental provisions that match the scale of the climate crisis.

Our campaign to pass ambitious climate legislation has been massive ? we have knocked on over three hundred thousand doors, met with tens of thousands of business and community leaders, and launched tens of millions worth of our own ad campaigns in swing districts. But, in what we expect to be the final days of negotiations ? resources are extremely tight, friend.

The truth is that we need to ask more of our members if we hope to stay in the fight against climate change.

We've just launched an emergency membership drive as a final front against corporate polluters? ruthless attempts to water down this bill. So, if you're in a position to pitch in, please, renew your membership today. Every dollar will be triple matched. Even $5 counts. [link removed]

Unfortunately, we've already seen the opposition succeed in stripping an important provision from the legislation Congress is debating. The Clean Electricity Performance Program, which would have made a big investment in green power, has been stripped from the bill after being rejected by Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

We must make clear that the bill Congress passes gives us a fighting chance to combat and reverse climate change. To do that, we will need to keep our campaign going longer than we'd anticipated. We need to fight like hell to ensure that every other climate and environmental justice investment is preserved in the legislation.

Let's be clear, corporate polluters would not be in this fight if they didn't know that our campaign is working ? climate provisions are positioned better than ever before. We're driving highly visible grassroots support in key districts and moving the needle in favor of climate action, but we can't let up now with the end in sight.

That's why we're asking: Please help us bring the most ambitious climate legislation ever over the finish line. We can win if we reach our $50,000 October fundraising goal. This goal helps keep organizers knocking on doors and ads airing across channels till the last detail is finalized and the last vote is cast.
