John,
There’s nothing funny about billionaires not paying their fair share in taxes. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun at their expense!
That’s why Americans for Tax Fairness teamed up with our allies at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and actor David Cross from the TV show Arrested Development.
In this new “breaking news” parody Cross plays fictional billionaire playboy Grayson von Trapp where he discusses the Billionaires Income Tax, at one point asking his financial advisor, “If I have to pay taxes on billions worth of stock gains, what does that do for the money left over for a spaceship?”
While we’re happy to have fun at the expense of billionaires, the reality is that they continue to game our rigged tax system―increasing their combined wealth by 70%, or $2.1 TRILLION during the last 19 months of the pandemic.[1]
Watch the video and sign the petition to Congress to include the Billionaires Income Tax in the Build Back Better legislation to help fund critical investments in healthcare, childcare, eldercare and much, much more.
Americans for Tax Fairness polling shows that voters in swing states LOVE the Billionaires Income Tax. In fact, support for the Build Back Better agenda rises from a net 14 points to 43 points when voters learn that it will be paid for by taxing billionaires.[2]
Let’s get this done! Click here to sign the petition and demand Congress include the Billionaires Income Tax in the Build Back Better legislation.
This is both good policy and good politics.
Thank you,
Maura Quint
