Congratulations Gavin Mulhaney on being named ASHOF Athlete of the Week!
Gavin ran for 174 yards and three touch
downs and set a school single-season rushing record as the Houston Hawks completed an undefeated season and won their
first state championship by downing Barrow 41-8 in the Division III football championship.
The Alaska Sports Hall of Fame Athlete of the Week is selected by a panel each Friday with the winner announced Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Sports Guys on CBS Sports Radio 590AM and 96.7FM. View past winners here.

Brandon Joyner
Brandon Joyner of Fairbanks caught four passes for a season-high 65 yards and a touchdown for the Elizabeth City State University football team in a 49-41 loss to Chowan in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
The 6-foot-4 junior wide receiver hauled in a 25-yard score in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7.
Joyner, of West Valley High fame, has 23 receptions for 236 yards and a pair of scores.
In 13 career games with the NCAA D2 school, he has racked up 45-384-3 totals.

Sean Duffy
Anchorage's Sean Duffy had a huge day in the pocket for the University of Dubuque football team.
The junior quarterback threw for a season-high 349 yards as the Spartans piled up a school-record 740 yards in a 69-14 win over Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Duffy, of West High fame, tossed three touchdown passes and at one point completed 12 straight passes.

Kenny Hausinger
As Alaska's active career points leader in college hockey, Kenny Hausinger of Anchorage is used to lighting the lamp.
But nothing quite like this year.
The University of Massachusetts-Lowell senior forward has amassed nine points in the first seven games, his best scoring start of his career.
Hausinger, of Dimond High fame, bagged a goal and assist in a 3-3 tie with Boston University in Hockey East action.
It was his 15th multi-point game, boosting his career 36-33-69 totals in 112 games for UMass-Lowell.

Jeremy Swayman
The University of Maine's Jeremy Swayman of Anchorage is one of the most stubborn goaltenders in NCAA hockey.
The junior netminder turned aside 31 of 32 shots in a 2-1 road win over Vermont in the Hockey East conference.
He ranks third in the country with 202 saves in six games. He's also ninth with 335 total minutes, signifying his durability and consistency between the pipes.
Swayman has a 4-2 record with career-best 2.20 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.

Ruthy Hebard
Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks is back on the preseason watch list for the Katrina McClain Award, which is presented to the nation's top power forward by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
The University of Oregon senior was a finalist for the award last year (16.1 ppg, 9.0 rpg) after winning it as a sophomore (17.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg).

Megan Currier
Anchorage's own Megan Currier and Erica Heil each contributed points to help the Embry-Riddle women's soccer team beat Sierra Nevada 5-0 in Prescott, Arizona.
The win extended the team's conference-best nine-game unbeaten streak.
Currier, of South High fame, scored in just the fifth minute to get the party started. It was her third goal of the season and 11th of her career.

Britton Clifford
Anchorage's Britton Clifford this year has turned into a bona fide goal scorer for the Whitworth University men's soccer team.
The senior midfielder has scored four times in 15 games, including three goals in the last six games.
His latest goal came in the 74th minute of a 2-0 win over Pacific in Spokane, Washington. His first shot was saved by a defender, but he was there for the rebound.
Whitworth is also 4-0 when the Alaskan finds the back of the net.
Clifford, of South High fame, now has five goals and three assists for 13 points in 58 career games.
Twenty of his 38 shots have come this year.

Lincoln Tulimasealii
Faulkner University senior linebacker Lincoln Tulimasealii of Anchorage is one of the more devastating defensive players in NAIA.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder is among the national leaders in three different categories, ranking:
7th in sacks per game (1.2) 15th in total sacks (6) 20th in tackles for loss per game (1.7)

Colter Lasher
Anchorage's Colter Lasher went off in the fourth quarter, pumping in 14 of his team-high 16 points as the Bayer Giants beat Artland 93-88 in Germany's Pro A division.
The 6-foot-7 forward's big game led his team to its third win in the last four games to bounce back from an 0-2 start.
Lasher, of Dimond High fame, ranks second on Bayer in scoring at 13.5 points in just 20 minutes per game.

Anchorage's Mia Wilson and the Sacramento State women's soccer team are riding the longest unbeaten streak in the country.
The two-month, 15-game run without a loss matches Virginia and George Washington for the longest unbeaten streak in the country.
Sacramento State has posted a 9-0-6 record since a 3-1 loss Aug. 23 to UC Davis in the NCAA season opener.

Cam McDonald
Eagle River's Cam McDonald scored his first collegiate goal to help No. 13 Providence College earn a 4-2 win over No. 10 Clarkson in Potsdam, New York.
The Friars extended their lead to 3-1 early in the second period when the freshman defenseman beat the Clarkson goaltender with a wrist shot through traffic from the point.
McDonald, of Eagle River High fame, was credited with the game-winner.
The blueliner has blocked four shots in four games and owns a +5 rating.
