Dear Colleagues,
Last week, the White House released the first-ever Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality. This historic document creates a roadmap for a gender lens approach to the whole-of-government activities, policies, and partnerships, as well as investment to shift the social and cultural norms that undermine gender equity and equality.
As the largest international network of women’s funds, gender equity funders, and allies, we celebrate this bold agenda and look forward to working with the Administration in its implementation. We thank the White House Gender Policy Council for recognizing your wisdom and expertise by seeking your feedback and data as they shaped their strategy. Along these lines, you’re invited to sign on to our network’s statement of support.
Women’s funds are already implementing solutions at the state level in each of the National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality’s 10 priority areas, offering models for national policy transformation. Read our statement to learn more about these priority areas, and key examples of how women’s funds and gender justice funders are re-shaping states and regions across the United States.
With the President following the Gender Policy Council’s recommendations and with support and leadership from women’s funds and gender justice funders across the globe, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a future where everyone can thrive.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
