Friend --

Progress in Washington doesn't come fast. It doesn't come easy. And as tempting as it is to throw up our hands and cast blame, there's another path we can choose: Optimism.

That's the path I took last week when I led a House hearing on the supply chain crunch. People from both sides of the aisle, including many small business owners, came together to discuss the strain and find solutions.

These conversations don't make headlines, but they are happening all the time. This is what it means to break free of the dysfunction in Congress and fight every day to improve people's lives. I'm proving it can be done, but only with a grassroots team of supporters behind me.

If you're ready to fight the cynicism that's taken over our politics, I hope you'll stand alongside me. Chip in before our end-of-month deadline to fuel our campaign through the next cycle.

Our campaign has set a bold goal for October: to get support from 1,500 grassroots donors like you.

If we pull it off, it'll send a message to everyone -- the pundits, the dark money groups, and my colleagues on the Hill -- that Americans want leaders who look forward. Who look for solutions. Who can look you in the eye and honestly say they're doing everything in their power to make our country better.

Progress doesn't come fast, but if we stick together, we will win it.

With gratitude,

Dean
