Three years ago today, 11 people died and 7 more were injured in a shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

When we hear references to Tree of Life, Newtown, Columbine, Pulse, Charleston, and Parkland, we know that these communities are bonded together not because of culture or location, but because of the trauma of gun violence and the enduring grief that follows.

In the three years since the Tree of Life shooting, the list of mass shootings has grown steadily longer. Yet, in the time since, Republicans have repeatedly blocked meaningful action to protect our families from the scourge of gun violence. The American people deserve better.

Today, as we continue to mourn the lives lost in Pittsburgh, it's time to demand action once again. The House has passed multiple critical reform bills, but in order to finally make them law, we need to either change the filibuster or convince at least 10 of Bob's Republican colleagues to join him.

It's time for Senate Republicans to join Democrats in voting for commonsense gun reform. If you agree, will you sign Bob's petition?

Each time we gather to honor the victims of mass shootings, we're reminded that in times of tragedy, our Nation can find great strength.

The family members and friends who share the names and stories of their loved ones should inspire us all to work through our grief and take action. Their courage and resolve are valuable, but we cannot let them shoulder this burden alone.

Year after year, Senator Mitch McConnell and fellow Republicans have blocked debate on bills like a bipartisan universal background checks bill that has already passed through the House.

Our families should not have to wait any longer for Congress to break the cycle of gun violence.

Together, let us honor the lives lost not simply only through vigils and memorials, but through action, legislation, and lasting change. Join us in demanding a vote on universal background checks now.
