Welcome to Tuesday, October 26th, toothpicks and floss...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and multiple Dems have pushed for the expulsion of members of Congress who helped plan the Capitol riots on January 6th.

The demands for expulsion come in response to a Rolling Stone report where two witnesses revealed that "multiple members of Congress were intimately involved in planning both Trump’s efforts to overturn his election loss and the Jan. 6 events that turned violent."

Which Representatives Were Reportedly Involved in Insurrection?

The representatives listed in the report include:

  • Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)
  • Mo Brooks (R-AK)
  • Lauren Boebert (R-CO)
  • Madison Cawthorn (R-NC)
  • Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
  • Paul Gosar (R-AZ)
  • Andy Biggs (R-AZ).
"January 6 was just a riot at the Capitol and if you think about what our Declaration of Independence says, it says to overthrow tyrants," Greene said in an appearance on Steve Bannon's podcast Tuesday.

Should members of Congress involved in the Capitol riots be expelled?

Gold Medals for Service Members

This bill would posthumously award a Congressional Gold Medal to the 13 American service members who were killed in a terror attack amid the U.S. evacuation at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 26, 202.

The Congressional Gold Medal would be given to the Smithsonian Institution and would be available for display outside of the District of Columbia at times, particularly at locations associated with those servicemembers.

Lawmakers face a Halloween deadline to extend the authorization of surface transportation programs before they lapse for the second time in as many months

The Senate-passed bipartisan infrastructure bill includes a reauthorization of those programs in addition to a number of other provisions and may receive a vote this week if Democrats are able to reach a deal on their social spending plan. If a deal is reached, a vote on that spending package could occur as soon as this week.

How do you feel about this week’s congressional schedule?
