As Montana Democrats, we’re always working hard to make sure all Montanans are
adequately represented in our state’s leadership. Back in June, the Montana
Democratic Party voted to establish tribal committees, like county central
committees, whose delegates vote on the party’s platform, rules and officers,
and nominate candidates. Native voices matter in Montana and we’re proud to
spearhead the first program of its kind in the country.

We think it’s essential that people who are truly representative of their
constituents have the opportunity to run. We want local candidates who may have
never run for office before to be equipped with everything they need to win
competitive races, but this comes at a cost.

So we’re asking for 250 donations by the end of the month to ensure we can
continue to grow our Native Program through the end of 2021. Can you chip in

Our program designates a formal role for Native Americans based on the tribes’
share of the population and Native Americans make up seven percent of Montana’s
population. We hope to continue to increase Native involvement in government,
but we need your help to keep this up.
