John,
Exactly one year ago today, a Republican Senate majority voted to confirm far-right Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court by a vote of 52–48. This came after Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell rammed through her nomination process in order to stack our nation's highest court with extreme-right Justices just days before the 2020 election. Many of us watched in fear and anger as her confirmation was decided.
Then just days ago, the Supreme Court announced that they would expedite a review of Texas' 6-week abortion ban, SB 8, and begin hearings on November 1. That's in only six days, John.
We may have kicked Trump out of office, John, but we are still in the very midst of the fight against his dangerous GOP agenda and the ugly stain he left on our democracy. With the Supreme Court hearing oral arguments for Texas' SB 8 in just a few days from today, there has never been a more urgent time to flex our women-led organizing power and fight relentlessly to defend abortion access.
Fighting back against the GOP's slate of anti-abortion attacks is going to take millions of Women’s Marchers organizing together to make sure our rights are protected on the local and federal level — especially leading up to this critical Supreme Court hearing in just six days.
We've said this before, but it bears repeating: Whatever decision is made on November 1 will have a widespread impact on all of us, no matter where we live, so we must start preparing now.
That's why we're asking you to please chip in any amount you can afford before this major case is heard on November 1.
Don't give up the fight,
Women’s March
