In case you missed it:
Last week, Josh joined a coalition of 23 attorneys general to petition the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to protect the health and well-being of children across the country, by taking urgent action to remove toxic heavy metals found in infant and toddler foods.
In February 2021, a Congressional report found that baby food produced by four of the country's largest commercial manufacturers was contaminated with dangerous levels of arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury.
Because babies and young children have smaller bodies and metabolisms, it makes them even more vulnerable to the harmful neurotoxic effects of these metals.
Folks, no parent should have to worry about the safety of their children's food. That’s why Josh is urging the FDA to act quickly to protect infants and toddlers from this unacceptable toxic exposure.
The petition sent by Josh and his fellow AGs calls on the FDA to speed up its plan to set limits on the levels of heavy metals and to push manufacturers to lower the concentration of these toxic metals in baby foods.
Stand with Josh and urge the FDA to hold baby food manufacturers accountable. Sign your name if you agree that the FDA must take immediate action to reduce these risks and protect our children: [[link removed]]
