Dear friend, Marijuana decriminalization is critical to address the systemic harm caused by the failed war on drugs, but it alone is not enough. As I continue to fight for the decriminalization of marijuana nationwide, we must also ensure minority-owned businesses are supported -- including through access to capital. Currently, cannabis businesses are prohibited from having bank accounts or taking out bank loans, which has significant consequences for employees and business owners. That’s why I’m proud to co-lead the SAFE Banking Act, which will ensure cannabis businesses are able to access banking services. This measure will help new and existing small businesses get off the ground -- and is an important step towards ensuring the communities most harmed by criminalization aren’t excluded from the profits of the legal industry. Will you join me in fighting for small cannabis businesses? There is still significant work to be done towards marijuana justice, and I’m ready to do it. Are you with me?
