Our endorsed candidate, Shenise Turner-Sloss, a Democrat and front-runner for Dayton City Commission in Ohio, is under attack for speaking truth to power on police violence that has gone unchecked in her community -- by FELLOW Democrats.
Although we are disgusted, we are not surprised. At Barrier To Entry PAC, we know that even when the establishment gets it wrong, the PEOPLE can get it right.

We have no choice but to call this out.
These are Republican fear mongering tactics, and it’s complete bullshit.
The Dayton establishment is accusing a Black mother for not caring about safety in her community— an obvious “dog whistle.” And in today’s world, not only is that unacceptable, it is downright dangerous.
Shenise said it best herself: “I grew up working poor in Dayton’s West Side and am now a mother proudly raising three young children here in Dayton. I absolutely want to make our neighborhoods as safe as possible for all residents, and evidence shows that the best way to do this is to improve educational opportunities and reduce poverty.”
Luckily, respected progressives like Sen. Nina Turner, are building a coalition and using their voices to put power behind Shenise where others have tried to tear her down.
Supporting progressive organizing work in our cities that can excite and engage new voters is critical to flipping Ohio blue and implementing just policies, and it can only happen from the ground up.
