Please join the Alliance for Housing Solutions for the 2021 Bozman Awards ([link removed]) as we honor a trio who represent three key levels of affordable housing leadership: political, organizational, and resident.
Together, our honorees exemplify the types of affordable housing leadership Arlington needs to ensure not just a sufficient supply of housing but good quality, well-managed homes that improve the lives of residents.
The 2021 honorees include:
* The Honorable Mary Margaret Whipple
Former AHS Board Chair, Virginia State Senator, Arlington County Board and School Board Member for her work shaping local and statewide policies that support affordable housing
* Nina Janopaul
Former CEO of Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) for her work creating and managing quality, sustainable, affordable housing in Arlington and the region
* Elder Julio Basurto
Former resident leader at The Serrano Apartments and Elder at Solid Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church for his efforts to drive community engagement and action to improve affordable housing

Bozman Affordable Housing Award is given annually in recognition of organizations and/or individuals who demonstrate a commitment to the preservation of housing affordability in Arlington. In this way, we hope to highlight and encourage the work in which AHS founder Ellen Bozman so strongly believed.
