Hi John,

Well this is a breath of fresh air. Finally, someone from “the government” is being honest with the public about their approach to the climate crisis. Check it out below 😉

Watch and share the video on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram

Of course, this is actually the satirist Jolyon Rubinstein, who you may recognise from the BBC’s “The Revolution Will Be Televised”. We asked him to go out, pretend to be from the government and ask the public what they really think of the UK’s inconsistent and inadequate approach to tackling climate change. Unsurprisingly, they weren’t very impressed!

Watch and retweet on Twitter instead

It really is all common sense. We have to tackle the climate crisis, and it will cost us far less to act now rather than later. If we recognise that we urgently need to move away from fossil fuels, we shouldn’t approve exploration for new oil and gas fields. And if we want other countries to step up too, we should be getting our own (well insulated) house in order with proper support for clean transport, green heating and restoring nature.

Above all - and with critical COP26 climate talks just about to start - when the government makes a big fanfare about its climate promises, it needs to follow that up with climate actions!

Help us get the message out there today - please watch and share our video, and if you haven’t already, please sign our petition calling on Boris Johnson to step up before talks begin.

Thank you for your support,

Best wishes,

Kate
