John -- Election Day is just one week away and we are working nonstop to make sure voters know how crucial these upcoming elections are for the gun violence prevention movement. As gun violence continues at record-breaking levels, our communities cannot afford to elect leaders who won’t act on gun violence prevention. The longer we face inaction, the more lives are lost. Support our final push before Election Day.

In all our conversations with community members, we’re trying to drive home one point: every single vote matters. Your vote is your voice and it could mean the difference between adequate funding for the community-led violence intervention programs we know work and new laws to keep our schools and neighborhoods safer or more empty thoughts and prayers.

So many elections—especially local races—come down to just a handful of votes. Last year, a Pennsylvania Senate seat was decided by 69 votes. A House of Representatives seat in Iowa came down to just six votes.

That’s why these last few days before the election are so vitally important. This time is crucial for educating voters and motivating them to make it to the polls. But it takes nonstop strategic work to really move the needle. And right now, we don’t have the resources to keep this election work going at full capacity through next Tuesday. These elections are too important to take for granted. Can you donate $10.00 today to help us make it to the finish line?

Local elected leaders play a critical role in public education about, implementation of, and funding for gun safety laws. This work often gets less attention than the passage of new laws, but it’s arguably more important. A policy can only work to prevent gun violence if it is adequately implemented and enforced. That is why next week’s elections matter so much to the future of gun violence prevention.

We can’t give up now. Please, invest what you can today in a safer tomorrow.

Thank you,
Nelago
