John -- I know you’re busy -- with work, or school, or family -- but I wanted you to know that I’m incredibly grateful that you make time to help our campaign stand tall for Iowans. You are the heart and soul of this campaign. You are the reason why I am inspired to get behind the wheel of Sioux City Sue and drive to the small and proud Iowa towns on our “Don’t Forget About Us” tour. Your support is what drives our campaign forward, and gives us the ability to go everywhere, talk to everyone, and not write anyone off. If we’re going to beat Steve King, it will take all of us. We need to go everywhere from the big cities to the small towns and talk to as many Iowans as possible -- and that’s why emails like this at the end of the month are so important. Every time folks like you chip in, it helps put gas in the tank and keeps me out there on the campaign trail. John, can I count on you to chip in $5 or more before Thursday’s end-of-month fundraising deadline? We need to hit this month’s grassroots goal. Please chip in what you can. This campaign is about more than just defeating Steve King and his selfish, hateful agenda. That’s important -- no doubt -- but this campaign is also about lifting up the voices of our rural communities and working families who have been forgotten and left behind by politicians. I’ve had enough of the neglect and the lack of investment that has caused hospitals to consolidate, grocery stores and schools to close, and more of my friends and neighbors to move away seeking opportunities elsewhere. People are waking up and ready for change. But for us to win and give working people a seat at the table of our democracy again, we need to make this campaign a little stronger each month.
