John,
Senate Democrats are meeting today to finalize how they plan to pay for the Build Back Better investment legislation. At the center of the discussion will be the Billionaires Income Tax―proposed by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), and supported by President Biden and Majority Leader Schumer.
During the last 19 months of the pandemic, billionaires have seen their wealth skyrocket by 70% or $2.1 trillion.[1] The Billionaires Income Tax would ensure these 700+ billionaires start paying taxes on their investment gains each year, the same as you and I pay on our wages.
Let’s demand Congress tax wealth like work!
Help get this historic legislation across the finish line―and ensure billionaires start paying their fair share in taxes. Rush a contribution today!
As Democrats consider whether to include the Billionaires Income Tax in this historic plan to unrig our tax code, they need to hear from us. After you pitch in to fund the fight to win, can you pick up the phone and call your senators using our toll-free action line, now: 1-888-894-6720
Here’s a suggested script to help with your call:
Hello, my name is _____________ and I’m a constituent of the senator’s. I am calling to urge Senator _________ to support the tax reform plan being put forward by Senator Wyden and Majority Leader Schumer.
It will raise the revenue needed to fully fund the Build Back Better plan by making the rich and corporations begin paying their fair share of taxes.
Senator Wyden’s tax plan includes the Billionaires Income Tax, which I strongly support. It is critical that billionaires start paying taxes on their investment gains each year the same as workers like me pay taxes on our wages each year.
Again, I urge the senator to support Senator Wyden’s tax plan and his Billionaires Income Tax. Thank you.

Thank you for all that you do to unrig our tax code and finally ensure the rich and corporations start paying their fair share.
