Dear Friend,
As we enter the thanksgiving season, it’s a perfect time to say thank you. Your compassion is power. It has brought relief to people in need, and a pathway through the most difficult time of their lives. Kelly would agree.
Kelly was newly married with a sweet little girl. As the pandemic wore on, her husband’s mental health issues flared, triggering repeat violent bouts, to the point where he’d rather hit her than hold her.
Kelly made the tough but brave decision to leave with her daughter. Their prospects of a safe “next” place bottomed out in the uncertain pandemic and as options dried up, they became homeless.
Compassionate support like yours becomes a lifeline for a family like Kelly’s. Please consider being a lifeline for your neighbors in need.
Kelly and her little girl’s lives changed as soon as they arrived at our shelter. In her words:
“When I came to the VOA family shelter, I was shown so much love, even though they didn’t know me. I took classes...I got a job and was able to save enough for my own home. Our lives are completely changed. Thank you!”
As a friend of VOA, you’ve shown you care for struggling neighbors in your community. Please, in this time when economic impacts are driving urgent needs higher than our resources alone can handle, please be as generous as you can for those in need. Together, in this season of love, we’ll make sure no family is forgotten.
I WANT MY GIFT TO CHANGE LIVES THIS HOLIDAY >>
All the best, Mike King President and CEO Volunteers of America
P.S. We can do so much more together for someone who’s struggling. We can be their someone to lean on…with nutritious meals…a warm shelter bed… mental health counseling or life skills training. Thank you for loving your neighbor this season!
