Almost two months after the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority declined to halt an egregious Texas law banning all abortions after just six weeks, the justices announced they will hear the case on November 1 — the first abortion case since Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed.

And then a month later, the Court will hear a case concerning a Mississippi abortion law — directly challenging Roe v. Wade and abortion rights across the country.

Abortion rights are under attack like never before. That’s why it’s more crucial than ever that we have the majorities that would make it possible for Congress to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law to once and for all protect the right to safe, legal, and equal access to abortion.

My friend, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), is up for re-election in 2022. There is no path to a majority or protecting reproductive rights without re-electing Tammy.
