Negotiations continue on Build Back Better package and bipartisan infrastructure bill ? Democrats in Congress continue to negotiate among themselves and with President Biden to try to reach a deal on a Build Back Better package that can secure 50 votes in the Senate. Senate Republicans block voting rights bill Republican Senators on Oct. 20 blocked a voting rights and election reform bill. Sixty votes were needed to move forward with the bill, but not a single Republican supported advancing the measure, which would set standards for early voting and voting by mail, make Election Day a national holiday, and more.
