John,

Brian Kemp single-handedly purged over 1.4 million valid voter registrations from Georgia's rolls from 2012 to 2018 as Secretary of State.

Kemp then ran for governor as he continued to purge voter registrations, going on to “defeat” Stacey Abrams by just 55,000 votes in 2018. Since, Stacey Abrams has registered well over 800,000 new voters to reverse Kemp's authoritarian plot and restore Georgia's eroded political strength.

But then, in 2020, Donald Trump obsessively pressured Gov. Kemp's replacement as Secretary of State to somehow “find” votes that would overturn the results of the presidential election.

But you saw what was going on, John, and you not only donated when it mattered most, but you called out Trump's naked authoritarianism, you gave Joe Biden and Kamala Harris the keys to the White House, you elected Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to win our razor-thin 50/50 Senate Majority.

Look, Donald Trump is already running an amped-up version of the same GOP voter-manipulation playbook for 2022 and 2024. The Washington Post reports that he's settled on a “wink-and-nod” campaign strategy to keep himself in the spotlight.

He'll use that attention to ensure that his loyalists successfully oust progressive voting rights champions, like Mary Gay Scanlon and Cori Bush in the House and Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in the Senate.

His Congressional foot-soldiers will undoubtedly continue to filibuster the Freedom to Vote Act, further gut voting protections, and ensure as few people as possible are allowed to vote in 2024 so that Trump will easily reclaim the presidency. And since we're still $3,898 short of the critical October 31 fundraising target necessary to ward off Team Trump's insidious voter-suppression campaign, there's a real chance they'll get away with it.

The greatest challenge to our voting protections is still yet to come, John. Thank you for staying in the fight. Thank you for everything.
