Let Us Pray: New CI campaign to protect the ordinary work of churches from a conversion therapy ban

Dear supporter,

The Government intends to ban so-called conversion therapy.

This might be limited to closing legal loopholes concerning physical and pseudo-medical abuses if they exist. But there’s a real danger it will go much further and catch the ordinary work of churches. LGBT activists are pushing for a ban on any preaching, prayer and pastoral care that contradicts their theology.

That’s why, today, we are launching the Let Us Pray campaign.

VIDEO: Let Us Pray – because praying shouldn't be a crime. Watch now.

Private prayer, evangelism, parenting, pastoral advice, preaching and teaching, church membership, baptism, confirmation and communion would all be put at risk by an overly broad ban. These things, the ordinary work of churches, must not be criminalised.

We want to protect gospel freedom. Politicians must not allow activists to exploit concerns about genuine abuse to further their own agendas against Christians.
