Hey team — My colleagues and I just wrote an op-ed for Newsweek explaining why Build Back Better is a winning agenda for every American. Here’s a recap: We were sent to Washington for one reason: To deliver results for the folks back home. We support both the bipartisan infrastructure framework and President Joe Biden's Build Back Better agenda because it's exactly what we promised voters we would accomplish when they sent us to Congress. The infrastructure package will help to rebuild crumbling roads and bridges, invest in desperately needed water infrastructure, kickstart our economic growth and help us transition to a clean energy economy — while creating millions of good-paying jobs along the way. And the Build Back Better Agenda, once finalized, will help to lower health care costs, tackle climate change, expand the child tax credit and commit to economic development in persistently distressed communities — all while ensuring that no one, no matter how big or how wealthy, can avoid paying their fair share of taxes. These would both be incredibly bold steps forward for the entire country, but Republicans are fighting tooth and nail to keep us from being able to go home to our districts and say that we delivered on what we promised.
