The fourth payment of the expanded Child Tax Credit hit bank accounts earlier this month.

It’s one of the many ways the American Rescue Plan Act is producing real relief for everyday Americans. By providing working families with extra dollars to pay for food and utilities, it’s making the largest dent in reducing child poverty in decades.

After the first payment went out in July, 3 million children were raised out of poverty.

After the second payment, an additional 500,000 children were lifted out.

We know this program is working — now, it’s time to make it permanent.

Congress needs to act before the expanded Child Tax Credit expires in December. It’s imperative that we end food insecurity and increase financial stability for families across the country by providing them with the resources they need.

As a proud champion for the expanded Child Tax Credit, I’ll do everything I can to turn this important provision into law.
