John —

We’re keeping it short today, because this is an urgent matter that needs your support.

Julius Jones was a promising young student-athlete at the University of Oklahoma when he was arrested for a murder he’s always said he had no part in. The lawyers who defended him were brand new and called no witnesses to the stand. Then, after a juror used a racial slur against Julius and suggested that he be taken out behind the courthouse and shot, a nearly all-white jury convicted him, and the judge sentenced him to death.

Tomorrow is Julius’ clemency hearing — his last chance to plead his case and save his life ahead of his scheduled execution date in November. There is so much doubt in this case, and to execute someone when there’s growing evidence pointing to their innocence would be a terrible and irreversible tragedy.

Will you please take a moment today to email the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board and Governor Kevin Stitt and tell them to spare Julius’ life?

This is truly life or death for Julius, who has spent half his life on death row — so anything you can do is impactful.

Thank you so much for your support,

— The Innocence Project Team
