Last year, my legal team protected Vote By Mail and the U.S. Postal Service from President Trump and Postmaster General DeJoy’s damaging policies by defeating them in a federal courthouse in Central Washington. Our successful lawsuit was an important factor in electing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

But Trump’s appointed Postmaster General DeJoy is still trying to dismantle the Postal Service from within. I recently filed a new lawsuit to immediately block the drastic operational changes set to take place in the USPS.

DeJoy’s newest policy would implement a “leave mail behind” policy, forcing postal trucks to leave at specific times no matter if there is still mail to be loaded.

Millions of Americans rely on the Postal Service to deliver prescriptions, social security benefits, and paychecks. DeJoy is failing to follow federal law by implementing procedures that will harm the wellbeing of seniors, veterans, and other high-risk individuals, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am part of a coalition of 14 states dedicated to stopping these damaging changes from taking place and holding DeJoy accountable to undoing the damaging policies he and the Trump administration implemented.
