Dear Supporter,

Last week was quite eventful. We laid to rest American hero, Elijah Cummings, our west coast became ravaged with wildfires, suffered through more preening and charades by Republicans in Congress, and our President and his party continuing to NOT represent the people. But, there is good news. There is great energy in this campaign to bring the voices of North Carolina back to the halls of the United States Senate.There is a surge of energy in the belief of how great America is and can be. There is an abundance of hope in Americans trusting in America again. 

Last week, I worked with colleagues and stakeholders to bring SB184 NC Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) out of the bill graveyard and into consideration by discharge petition for a vote on this bill in the NC Senate. North Carolina will be the 38th and final state needed to ratify the ERA. I am proud to have worked as primary sponsor and lead the charge on the petition! I also worked to get SB660 to the floor which is a bill to prevent workplace harassment at the North Carolina General Assembly.

I am One of US for All of US!  Serving in local and state elected office for almost two decades has shaped me to be a better lawmaker and a better person.
