If you’re on our email list, you most likely share our view that there is too much — way too much — money in politics. (Public Citizen, of course, is working hard to fix that.)
For example:
Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona raised $1.1 million over just the past three months — almost all of it from wealthy donors — and she’s not even up for reelection until 2024!
Meanwhile, Sinema continues to sabotage the work her fellow Democrats are doing to pass the progressive reforms the American people elected them to deliver.
That sabotage sometimes takes the form of jetting away from D.C. — in the middle of intense negotiations over President Biden’s Build Back Better plan — to meet with rich donors.
Tell Senator Kyrsten Sinema:
You are standing in the way of progressive legislation that working people in Arizona and all across America are counting on Democrats to deliver. Is it so you can get more and more dirty campaign money? When you block policies that are overwhelmingly popular and that will directly benefit your constituents — like lowering prices for prescription medicines and making billionaires and Big Business pay their fair share — it is hard to avoid the conclusion that Big Money is having its way. Stop undermining your own party’s hard work to provide the meaningful, lasting help that everyday Americans desperately need.

Thanks for taking action.
