UCLA Voting Rights Project has announced that Senate Republican Commissioner Joe Fain's redistricting map is an "obvious racial gerrymander" and House Republican Commissioner Paul Graves's map demonstrates "text-book 'cracking' of Latino population" and they may violate the federal Voting Rights Act.
Senate Democratic Commissioner Brady Walkinshaw and House Democratic Commissioner April Sims are releasing new legislative maps next week that include a VRA compliant Yakima Valley district because they know our districts must offer fair representation for ALL Washingtonians.
Now we need grassroots supporters like you to help us combat the GOP's proposed redistricting maps.
