More than 700 Heritage members gathered in Washington, D.C., last week for the 2019 President’s Club Meeting. Through inspiring discussions and moving speeches, the three-day conference gave conservatives renewed hope for the future.

On Oct. 22, Heritage held our inaugural Heritage Honors gala, a star-studded, black-tie event which drew a crowd of 1,500. We were fortunate to have Vice President Mike Pence give the keynote address! At the gala, we unveiled our newest initiative, the Feulner Institute, which will fight for the hearts and souls of Americans. We also honored Heritage founder Ed Feulner for his contributions to the conservative movement with the Clare Boothe Luce Lifetime Achievement Award, Heritage’s highest honor. President’s Club Meeting Gives Conservatives Hope Amid Turmoil
The Heritage Foundation’s 2019 President’s Club Meeting and first-ever Heritage Honors gala gave conservatives a welcome respite from the current turmoil and divisiveness raging in our nation. An all-star cast of prominent conservative policy experts and leaders, including Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, exhorted attendees to stand strong in the fight against socialism and to hold fast to the founding principles that make America truly exceptional. Heritage publicly released our True North principles of conservatism, which one media outlet described as “a rock in the storm of ideological battles raging on the right today.” In her opening speech, Heritage President Kay Coles James told attendees, “It’s because of the moral and financial support you provide that we’re able to battle every day against the statists to return America to the founding principles that made her the strongest, freest, and most prosperous nation on earth.” Read more and watch a video recapping this year’s Heritage President’s Club Meeting and Heritage Honors gala.

Heritage Launches the Edwin J. Feulner Institute
Heritage President Kay Coles James announced the establishment of the Edwin J. Feulner Institute to an audience of 1,500 at the inaugural Heritage Honors gala last week. “The Feulner Institute will help Americans understand the uniqueness of this nation’s founding, reinstill in Americans a love for their country, and help them understand why it’s all worth preserving,” said James. Named in honor of Ed Feulner, founder of The Heritage Foundation, the Feulner Institute will be led by Angela Sailor, who will serve as vice president. Through policy research, scholarship, and policy promotion, the institute will fight to win back the heart and soul of our country. Learn more about the Feulner Institute.

Ed Feulner Receives Clare Boothe Luce Lifetime Achievement Award
Heritage Foundation founder Edwin J. Feulner received the Clare Boothe Luce Lifetime Achievement Award at the Heritage Honors gala on Oct. 22. Established in 1991, this award is Heritage’s highest honor. “Through his stewardship, the principles of this country’s founding have been preserved and have informed many of the successful federal policies of the last four decades,” said President Kay Coles James. “The Clare Boothe Luce Award is a sincere token of the respect, admiration, and love the whole Heritage family has for Ed for all he has done for Heritage and for this country.” Read more about the award and Feulner’s contributions to the nation.

Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., Heritage will host an event to discuss Interpol and the Transnational Repression Accountability and Prevention (TRAP) Act. Opening remarks will be given by Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., co-chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, followed by panelists Tom Firestone, partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP; Sandra Grossman, partner at Grossman Young & Hammond, Immigration Law, LLC; and Thomas Ragland, member in charge of Clark Hill PLC. Wednesday at 9 a.m., Heritage will host an event to launch the 2020 Index of U.S. Military Strength, featuring keynote remarks by Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa. Watch the event live.
