What more can we say than that we are completely overwhelmed and moved by your generosity in response to last week’s email about our financial status. We knew we had an incredible base of supporters but your donations, words of encouragement, and ideas about growing a sustainable anti-war movement only showed us just how committed you are to ending war and the work World BEYOND War is doing — so much so, that our website experienced such high levels of traffic that our donation form crashed at times (if this happened to you, we hope you’ll consider revisiting the page!).

We know some of you may have been surprised to learn of our money worries and some have even questioned it, but we believe strongly in being transparent because ending war is a grassroots people-powered movement that is predominantly funded by individual donors—and you deserve to know the truth. Because we do not accept corporate or governmental funding, and because
grants for work on abolishing war are limited, individual donors
are the backbone of our organization — and will continue to be as we
work to grow our financial sustainability and autonomy to secure our
future work.
But, thanks to you (and we've updated our Thank You webpage), things are looking more encouraging and we can continue to work to end war and facilitate peace building through our educational war abolition programming, divestment campaigns, and campaigns to close military bases around the world.
We cannot express our gratitude adequately, except to say that your response and concern means the world to the entire World BEYOND War team and we can’t wait to continue to work with you to abolish war.
