✊ John Deere Workers on Strike in McDonough ✊
Above: Atlanta DSAers join workers at the John Deere picket line in McDonough, GA on Sunday, Oct 24
Striketober continues as over 10,000 UAW union members have gone on strike at John Deere, including those in McDonough, GA. The company has rejected a proposed wage raise after a record-breaking year in which they made over $5 billion in profits.
If you want to support these workers, please donate to the solidarity fund here! This fund is organized by UAWD (Unite All Workers for Democracy), a grassroots movement of UAW members, active and retired, united in the common goal of creating a more democratic and accountable union.

🛠 November 6th: Brake Light Clinic 🛠
Join Atlanta DSA's Midtown branch at our brake light clinic Allen Temple AME Church on November 6th, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM!
Every day, police stop working people for something as simple as a broken tail light, which can lead to a ticket you can’t afford, an arrest, illegal searches, and even violence. Getting stopped by police creates unnecessary risk to working people, especially undocumented immigrants and people of color.
A brake light clinic is where we fix broken brake lights. We provide the bulb and help people switch out the broken one. There’s plenty of ways to volunteer and we’ll provide all necessary training.

Electoral Committee 2021 Voter Guide
The Atlanta DSA 2021 municipal voter guide is here! This guide was written by the Electoral Committee to address the Atlanta mayoral and city council elections. Authors approached writing this guide with socialist values and a progressive, pragmatic lens. We see this as an opportunity to share information with fellow Atlanta DSA members, Atlanta voters, and other community members about the central questions shaping Atlanta politics.

✏️ Committee Applications are OPEN! ✏️

📣 Podcast volunteers needed! 📣
After some thorough research, our editorial committee has determined there are simply not enough socialist podcasts. To remedy this, we're planning to launch a podcast about leftist news and projects in the greater Atlanta area. Do you have a great voice for radio, excellent audio editing skills, or simply a passion for MP3s? Then you should join our growing podcast team as we prepare to launch!
If you'd like to help out, send us an email at [email protected] or join us in the biweekly editorial meeting Next Thursday (Thursday, Oct 28 @ 7pm) to lend a hand.
