Dear Friend,
We kicked off our re-election campaign two weeks ago and it's off to a strong start already! Within 12 hours of our launch, we met our first goal to have 150 individual contributions to become a certified Fair Elections candidate.
I'm hearing from so many neighbors that are proud of what we've accomplished and excited about the work ahead. We've met each goal so far, but this week is important as we have to report for our first fundraising deadline.
To meet our final goals for October, I'm asking if you can chip in $25 or $50. Because of the public financing match, that can turn your contribution into a total of $300 for the campaign and make a big impact for the re-election effort. I am grateful for your support and help, and thrilled to have your trust to keep working for our community and neighbors.
Thanks!
P.S. - As a Fair Elections candidate, the max donation I can accept is $50, which helps me focus on earning the support of as many Ward 6 neighbors as possible.
From: Charles Allen <[email protected]> Subject: I'm running for re-election as Ward 6's Councilmember! Hi Friend,
I’m excited to let you know that I’m running for re-election for Ward 6!
Together, we've done great things in Ward 6 and for our city. It takes bold leadership and working side-by-side to get that job done. Working for you, I’ve put a priority on tackling the tough issues - focusing on our schools, affordable housing, public safety, and investing in working families. I’ve worked hard with neighbors to create new parks and playgrounds, modernize schools and libraries, and rethink our public spaces that serve as our town squares where we come together. And when crisis strikes - whether it’s a fire that displaces seniors or a life-altering pandemic that tears through our city - I’m proud of the work we’re doing together to rebuild and recover.
I’m running again, and asking for your support, because the work isn’t done. Not by a long shot. We’ve got big challenges we need to solve - public safety, education, and making our streets safer no matter how you get around. And I want to work for a fair and equitable recovery from this pandemic that builds our city to be the one we know it can be - supporting working families, helping seniors age in their community, and being a great place to call home. Now, I need your help. As with every campaign I’ve run, I don’t take corporate and PAC money. I keep it focused on you. And as a Fair Elections candidate, your contribution gets matched with public financing to make a big impact. Please chip in $10, $25, or $50 to launch this re-election campaign.
In order to qualify for the Fair Elections program, I need to receive 150 donations from DC residents. Can you help me reach that goal? I couldn't be more proud of what we've done, but in this moment, we need strong experience and a bold vision to meet what's in front of us. I'm humbled by the trust you've put in me and excited for what more we can accomplish together. I'm asking for your support again and invite you to be a part of this exciting campaign for Ward 6 and our city!
