Election Day is right around the corner, John, and WFP members across the country are working hard to elect progressive leaders and pass transformative legislation.
At the WFP Assembly tonight at 8 PM ET, we’ll be discussing the organizing we’re doing on the ground to put WFP Champions in office, and the status of the Build Back Better Bill in Congress. We'll also hear from several inspiring WFP candidates running for local office, with elections in just over a week, as well as from a leading organizer working on one of the nation's most crucial ballot initiatives.
Our guests are: WFP National Director Maurice Mitchell; Black Visions Collective Co-Director Miski Noor; Aurora, Colorado City Council Member Crystal Murillo; Detroit, Michigan City Council Candidate Gabriella Santiago-Romero; and Burien, Washington City Council Candidate Hugo Garcia.

These local elections are critically important, John. This is our chance to elect the people who run our cities, our counties, our schools. These positions may not get talked about much in the news, but their decisions have a real, immediate impact on our communities — and they shape the future of our movement.
With a lot of uncertainty in the air about the reconciliation package making its way through Congress and next week’s elections, it can be easy to feel confused and isolated from the systems shaping our lives. But at the Working Families Party, politics isn’t about polling numbers — it’s about building a multiracial working class movement to build a better future for us all.
The WFP Assembly is our monthly virtual gathering where we recommit ourselves to each other and the movement.
RSVP to join us tonight, October 24 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT to get plugged into the movement.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
