John,

As we draw closer to the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to say a few words.

More often than not, this terrible disease has touched nearly each and every person in some way -- the lives of our family members, friends, neighbors, people we see in church and temple, people we grew up with, and so many more.

I have always been a strong advocate for breast cancer research, and I'm pushing for affordable and accessible health care in Congress so that every person can receive the care they need -- no matter what. And I'm continuing to fight for more funding so that one day we can all celebrate when a cure is found.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to recognize the American lives lost to this disease and the survivors, their loved ones, and the scientists who are working toward a cure. The work continues today and every day until the fight against breast cancer is won.

In solidarity,

Dwight
