A few weeks ago, I attended the Women's March to advocate for reproductive freedom where I told my personal story. And while I was telling my story, I couldn't help but reflect on the reason I ran.
My daughters.
My daughters are the reason I decided to run for office. Because in 2016, on that damned night as we watched Donald Trump become the president, I watched the horror spread across the faces of my daughters as they quickly realized what this would mean for them.
I ran because of my daughters. I ran because of my friends' daughters. I ran because of my neighbors' daughters. I ran because of our country's daughters.
This fight is for our daughters. For their futures, and the futures of their daughters. We're fighting to ensure our daughters and all of the daughters after them have autonomy over their bodies.
