If Democrats are going to win the White House in 2020, it’ll be because Virginia helped pave the way in 2019.

Democrats have an incredible opportunity to flip the Virginia General Assembly blue this November -- and if we do, we’ll show that we can win nationwide in 2020.

Here’s the thing: It’s all going to come down to mobilization and turnout, and that’s why I’m asking you to split a donation between my campaign and the Democratic Party of Virginia today. Your grassroots support will ensure that we can connect with voters and get them to the polls next week, and then again in 2020.

I’ve always prioritized helping other Democrats get elected, both in my home state of Minnesota and around the country. I know that making progress on the most important issues means we need Democrats in office at all levels -- not just in the White House.

And if we want to make progress in Virginia on issues like gun safety and health care, we need to win big in 2019. That means working in every district and reaching every voter -- something I’ve done since I entered public service. In 2018, I won 42 counties that President Trump carried in 2016. That’s exactly what we need to be doing if we want to win offices up and down the ballot.

The DPVA is fighting everywhere in Virginia, with record numbers of Democrats on the ballot. The good news is that we only need to flip two seats in the House and two in the Senate to turn both chambers blue and ensure progress on the issues we care about. But it’s going to take all of us working as hard as we can.
