Updated Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility Template for the Early Education Sector
Dear Early Education community:
CLASP has updated its* template [ [link removed] ]* to help child care and early education stakeholders comment on the proposed rule [ [link removed] ] that would nearly eliminate broad-based categorical eligibility (BBCE) [ [link removed] ] from SNAP. This rule would have horrific consequences for children and families [ [link removed] ] across the country, taking SNAP away from more than 3 million people [ [link removed] ]nationwide and causing nearly 1 million children [ [link removed]. ] to lose automatic access to free school lunch. The rule would especially harm working families with children who have high child care costs.
CLASP encourages you to comment in opposition to the rule and to share this template with your networks so they can comment.* IF YOU PREVIOUSLY COMMENTED, YOU CAN COMMENT AGAIN SO LONG AS YOU HAVE NEW CONTENT IN YOUR COMMENT AND DISCUSS SCHOOL MEALS*. CLASP encourages you to comment in opposition to the rule and to share this template with your networks so they can comment. Please alter the template [ [link removed] ]to add your unique perspective and experience and further explain why you and/or your organization oppose the proposed regulation.
Comments on the proposed rule are due by *11:59pm on November 1, 2019.*
