I know what it is like to defy the odds.

I was raised by a single mother in a small house with three sisters. I’m the son of immigrants.

My family depended on food assistance programs to survive.

But thanks to support from my community, I went on to study at Harvard, serve in the Marines and become a member of Congress.

That’s why I’m working hard to make sure the American Dream that made my story possible, can continue onto the next generation.

But sadly, Republicans are hellbent on cutting education funding, slashing healthcare, and eliminating critical social services, thus making stories like mine rarer and rarer.

I’m working everyday to stop them, but I can’t do it alone. Can you chip in $14 before my End of Week deadline to make sure the House and Senate stay in Democratic hands, so we can continue to work towards a better future? >>
