Dear John,
As Max writes in his email below — time is running out for Congress to act in the best interests of older Americans like you. In the wake of a Great Recession, devastating pandemic, growing wealth inequality, and soaring health care and prescription drug costs, Americans of all ages should rightly expect to see improvements to America’s social safety net.
Please help the National Committee put pressure on all members of Congress to pass a spending plan that prioritizes the needs of older Americans and our nation’s most vulnerable citizens by making one urgent donation of $10 or $5! Thank you for any support you can give today!

Dear John,
Lawmakers continue to negotiate a massive reconciliation package that is expected to include a number of key provisions that will help workers, retirees and their families. But some politicians are trying to strip out critical priorities that the National Committee supports on behalf of our members and supporters like you, including:
- Reducing the high cost of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate directly with big pharmaceutical corporations;
- Expanding Medicare to include dental, hearing and vision care, which are essential to healthy aging;
- Creating a paid leave program that enables family members to care for elderly and disabled loved ones;
- Investing in home- and community-based services that enable seniors and people with disabilities to stay in their homes;
- Other important investments in programs that will help lower- and middle-income families, especially our nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
Please support our urgent fight to ensure these priorities for older Americans remain intact in the final reconciliation bill by making a donation of $10 or $5 today.
It’s now or never! We simply will not have another opportunity like this anytime soon to pass sweeping legislation that improves the health and economic security and caregiving of older Americans. That’s why the National Committee is working around the clock to meet with members of Congress and their staff, engaged in numerous media appearances and rallying more Americans like you to this historic fight!
So please, help us wage a winning battle to pass a final reconciliation in Congress bill that fixes the shortcomings in Medicare and prioritizes the needs of older Americans by chipping in a gift in whatever amount you can afford today!
Sincerely,
|
